Biography

Though "The Nibiruan" might be a new name in the music scene, the guys in the band are no beginners when it comes to making music. The members of the band have literally thousands of miles behind them in terms experience of making music and playing shows in different groups. The story that eventually lead them to play together in "The Nibiruan" is filled with such a number of coincidences that seemed at the moment meaningless but proved out to all to be crucial links in the chains of even that lead to the creation of the band can not help but to make one wonder if the stars - or the planets - had been all along toying with their little chess game of life called "fate" in order to bring this group of five people together.

The first events which started the snowball effect that started gathering some serious momentum during the summer of 2009 and eventually led to the creation of "The Nibiruan" started already few years back - in the spring of 2007, to be precise. Lauri and Eerik, who had been playing together in the same band already for some while, decided on starting a totally new band together from a scratch. Because of being occupied with other bands and projects and general time consuming realities of life, the two did not, however, manage to get a chance to get things rolling before the turn of the year 2009, when Lauri again presented Eerik the idea of starting a band and asking if he was interested to take part in it - his answer being a "Yes!" with no doubts. Around the same period of time in the spring of 2009, Silver, unaware of what the guys were planning, approached Eerik as well with the idea of starting a band together - his answer being again a "Yes!" without any second thoughts. After thinking about it a while, Eerik used his grade school maths skills of 1+1 = 3 and suggested that these two ambitions of starting a band might prove out to be even more fruitful if combined and suggested Lauri and Silver to talk to each other about starting a band.

In the summer of 2009, Lauri and Silver started composing and working on material together. As by a miracle, despite of them never having even played a single note together before, it did not take them long to realize that their musical tastes, ideas and insight fitted together like a glove and they had an amazingly good mutual vision of what kind of music they wanted to create. The only obstacle that was left to be crossed was finding a suitable vocalist and a drummer.

Because of the complexity and the diverse nature of the material, it was clear that the music would require not only a stunningly talented and hard working, but also a highly versatile vocalist. After hearing from Asim through a mutual acquaintance, it did not take long for Lauri to be convinced that Asim was definitely the man for the job not only filling musical requirements for the job of being the vocalist for "The Nibiruan", but also by showing the kick-ass attitude that is vital to be the front man for a group which already at this point showed to be extremely ambitious.

If finding a vocalist for the group was not an easy, finding a drummer was definately not even one bit easier. The fact that the songs already composed by Lauri and Silver together at that point required not a drummer with a lot of technical talent but also a guy who could groove like nobody's business did not make the search any easier. After some time of searching and asking around in vain, Eerik ran into Petri through working in a mutual project with him and he suggested Lauri to ask the guy if he would be interested in joining the band. Luckily to the band, he was, and not later than playing together for the first time, it was clear that the human drum bombardment artillery also known as Petri was just the right man for the job. From that point on, the lineup for the band was finally complete.

In the Autumn of 2009, the band put together and practiced three kick-ass songs in a very short period of time. In the beginning of 2010, the band entered the studio to record these songs and, in the skillful hands of Mikael Grönroos, they completed the first release ever for "The Nibiruan".

After a series of intense live gigs and other events the band had a few lineup changes in late 2010 and early 2011. Jules Näveri replaced Asim in the vocal duties and Tuomo Räisänen filled up Eerik's place behind the bass. Even though Eerik left the band after recording his bass lines for the release of 2011, he will continue to write the twisted, sinister and epic lyrics to suit the band's forthcoming material.

In late 2011 the band released two tracks out of their second 3-track EP which was again recorded and mixed by Mikael Grönroos and this time mastered by Ludvig Nylund at Backstreet's Mastering.
